A Mitzvah Mall is a shopping alternative to the usual holiday gift buying. It provides a convenient opportunity for individuals to make donations to various charities. In exchange, the donor receives a gift card, which he or she can present to a recipient who will see that a specific tangible donation has been made with them in mind. Our cards are made from recycled paper and contain messages of “Happy Chanukah”, “Happy Holidays”, and “Just For You”. The “Just For You” card can be sent any time of the year when you want to acknowledge a special occasion or good deed. To see what the cards and inserts look like click here. The Mitzvah Mall is now open ALL YEAR ROUND for your shopping pleasure! A committee member will be at the Temple during Religious School on Sundays, November 4th, 18th, December 2nd, 9th, and 16th for sales and pickup, and Wednesdays during Religious School from November 28th through December only. Cards may be purchased any time during the year by contacting Beth Lemler, or click on the order form below and mail it to her. The Mitzvah Mall is Social Action’s annual fundraiser for five non-profit organizations. Since Social Action will cover the cost of the program, 100% of your donation goes directly to the organization. This year we will be working with:
To participate in this worthwhile program, donate a minimum of $2 - $100 for any tangible item or service to any of the organizations listed on the “Mitzvah Mall Order Form”. Note that Temple Shalom Reads welcomes all donations in any amount and therefore specific options are not listed for it on the order form. Just fill out the bottom of the form with your name and address and choice of cards, and indicate that your contribution is for Temple Shalom Reads. Look for our poster outside the Sanctuary displaying the cards. Volunteers are always needed (and greatly appreciated) during Religious School hours on Sundays and Wednesdays starting November 18th. If you have any questions about the program or would like to volunteer, contact Beth Lemler at 908-852-8246.
