Home Community Brotherhood
Brotherhood

Brotherhood membership means many things.  For starters, it means a full year’s worth of All-You-Can-Eat breakfasts of Bagels, cream cheese, lox (the good stuff!), herring, coffee, and juice plus entertainment.  Sound too good to be true?  Wait, there’s more!

Brotherhood is proud of the many ways it supports the Temple and the community. By joining, you have an opportunity to participate in some of our special events. This year, in addition to our annual Blood Drive, Brotherhood Shabbat and kitchen duties for the Chanukah and Purim Fairs, we are planning a Night at the Races, a Road Rally, and a Baseball Night, just to name a few, many held jointly with Sisterhood and the Temple Roots Committee. You can also enjoy the Lag B’Omer Family Picnic, weekly biking and hiking trips, and rafting and deep-sea fishing outings.  At our Party Showcase, you’ll find all the vendors to make a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Wedding or other event truly special. For more details, dates and times for Brotherhood activities, check the Brotherhood Calendar

The Brotherhood Annual Scholarship Program seeks to recognize a Jewish boy or girl of high school or college age who is a member of Temple Shalom and who demonstrates exemplary leadership, serves as a role model and impacts the community in a way that strengthens the Jewish identification of his or her peers.  For more information click this link for our Application Form.

Brotherhood helps the Temple in very tangible ways by renting and setting up chairs for the High Holidays, purchasing student prayer books, as well as confirmation and consecration certificates and gifts. Each year a major capital expenditure for the Temple is funded by Brotherhood. Our latest gift is a contribution covering the cost of an upgrade to the Temple’s accounting system.

The Temple relies on Brotherhood and Brotherhood, in turn relies on you!  Whether you can contribute a little time or a lot, we look forward to welcoming you to a very special group of men. Please join us so we can support the Temple together.  Become a member NOW!  Just fill out the membership form and mail it today.
