Meadowland scenes - a few pictures from our environmental boat trip.

 

We had enough people to fill two of these pontoon boats.
   
Some of the happy boaters, mostly with life preservers.  The accommodations on the boats were quite comfortable
   
Much of the Meadowlands is a wetlands preserve with canals through the tall grasses.  Here are some of the many species of birds who live there.
   
While major highways to New York City pass overhead, a heron surveys the world while a group of ducks paddle by.
   
Our Captain on the left discusses the environment as we traverse the broad main area of the Hackensack River.
