Waterloo scenes - a few pictures from our trip.

Waiting for our "Interpreter" Tom

Tom knows everything, loves to convey his knowledge, and makes it very interesting.

This waterfall helps with the Morris Canal lock system water levels.  Waterloo Village was the site of a lock and a mechanical incline to move the barges up and down a steep hill to where the canal continued.

Tom tells us that this is a unique duck, a hybrid of two species.

More fascinating tales of the buildings and the area.  All the houses at Waterloo are original to the site except one.  The village was populated by about 30 residents.

A quiet time as our leader reflects on the day, the scenery and the ubiquitous ducks.
